ಹೌದು ವೀಕ್ಷಕರೇ, ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಕೆರೆಗಳು, ಹೊಂಡಗಳು, ಹಳ್ಳಗಳು, ನದಿಗಳು, ತುಂಬಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ನೀರು ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅಂತರ್ಜಲ ಮಟ್ಟವು ಸಹ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ.
2022 ರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಾಸರಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಳೆಯು ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 562 ಮಿಮೀ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. (22.1 ಇಂಚು) ನಿಂದ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, 4,119 ಮಿಮೀ (162.2 ಇಂಚು) ವರೆಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಬಾಗಲಕೋಟೆ, ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಪ್ಪಳ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಳೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಉಡುಪಿ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಹಾಸನ, ಕೊಡಗು, ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಳೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ನಮ್ಮ ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ 3% ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದ ನೀರು ಇದೆ, ಇನ್ನುಳಿದ 97% ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಉಪ್ಪು ನೀರು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಇರುವ 3% ಸಿಹಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಫ್ಲೋರೈಡ್ ( floride) ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಟಿಡಿಎಸ್ ( TDS) ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಸಾಲ್ಟ್ (salt) ಮಿಶ್ರಣವಾಗಿದೆ, ಇದರಿಂದ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದ ನೀರು ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ಏನಿದ್ದರೂ ರಿವರ್ಸ್ ಆಸ್ಮೋಸಿಸ್ (RO) ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಕುಡಿಯವ ಹಾಗಾಗಿದೆ, ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳು ನದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಫಿಲ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಡದೆ ಬಿಡುವ ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ರಾಸಾಯನಕಗಳಿಂದ ಜಲ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ, ನೀರು ಹಾಳಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಬಹುತೇಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬರ ಪೀಡಿತ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಳೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೃಷಿಯ ಬೋರ್ವೆಲ್ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದು, ಕೆಲವು ಬೋರೆವೆಲ್ಲಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅತೀ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ, ರೈತರ ಬೆಳೆಗಳು ತುಂಬಾ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಮಾರು ₹12,320 ಕೋಟಿ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕಂದಾಯ ಸಚಿವ ಆರ್. ಅಶೋಕ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Only 3% of our land has potable water, the rest 97% is sea salt water, and in the 3% fresh water, fluoride and other TDS are a mixture of different salts, due to which we do not get potable water. Although reverse osmosis (RO) has become potable, water pollution is caused by the unfiltered waste chemicals discharged by factories into rivers.
Almost all the drought-prone districts of the state have received good rains this year, so all the agricultural borewells are full and some borewells are overflowing from the ground. But due to heavy rains, farmers’ crops have been damaged and the government has lost around ₹12,320 crore, Revenue Minister R. Ashok said.
Speaking about the heavy rains and floods in the House last week, Revenue Minister R Ashok said that heavy rains in the state in 2022 will cost around Rs 12,320 crores and around 134 farmers will be killed, crop damage of farmers in the state and death of livestock and house collapse will cost around Rs 7,381 crores.
